Severe weather occurred both in the morning and in the evening Tuesday across western and central Illinois, and depending on where you live, there was either damage or heavy rain.
That’s according to storm reports submitted to the National Weather Service offices in the Quad Cities and Lincoln.
Heavy rain was the rule in Knox County, with nearly 2.5 inches of rain falling at a spot near Wataga, while nearly 2.25 inches came down in Yates City.
More than two inches of rain fell in parts of Fulton County Tuesday, along with flash flooding reports.
Meanwhile, parts of Henry County and into Altona in Knox County saw heavy rain as well, but some areas saw some hail damage, and downed tree branches, with at least one thunderstorm wind gusts clocked at over 60 miles per hour.
That’s not all the rain in the forecast either, with rain likely throughout Friday. That could potentially put a damper on the beginning of the Railroad Days weekend, and other outdoor activities in the area.
