The National Weather Service in two offices says even more tornadoes hit close to the Galesburg area on Monday night than were first confirmed.

The Quad Cities office says their service areas had seven tornadoes spawn from the derecho that went across the area, while the weather service office in Lincoln says they’re now counting six — mostly in the Peoria area.

Of note so close to home, forecasters now say a second tornado touched down in Kewanee in Henry County — now marking one on the north end of the city, along with one on the south end.

They say they came to the conclusion of the second tornado there because of large trees being snapped in a park and a golf course and over 100 trees overall in Kewanee being damaged or destroyed.

Meanwhile, at least three tornadoes touched down in nearby Marshall County Monday night, with one being added near Speer.

In Fulton and Mason Counties, officials say four to seven inches of rain fell during the storms as well.

Weather is expected to be calm and comfortable for the next several days.

As of 12pm Thursday, Knox County still has six Ameren Illinois customers without power, according to their outage map.  Henry County has 286.  Fulton County has two, Warren County has zero, and Peoria County has 26.
