A recent East South Street shooting that resulted in the death of an 18-year-old Galesburg man allegedly stemmed from a dispute that originated on social media.
That’s according to a 28-page police report WGIL obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request from the Galesburg Police Department.
The shooting, which occurred at 11:12 a.m. June 7 in the 900 block of East South Street, claimed the life of Cam’ron Glass, 18. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Autopsy results say Glass died from a gunshot wound to the neck.
Police reports indicate a dark blue SUV pulled up to the home Glass was living in and started honking before the vehicle pulled out of a driveway and parked on the street at an angle.

Based on video from the area, police say it’s believed the driver of the car, Chase Holden Jr., 19, exited the car and started shooting at the house. A passenger in the vehicle, Gabriel Moore, 19, also allegedly opened fire at one point.
Houlden was also injured during the incident. He spent several weeks in a Peoria hospital after driving himself to OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg following the shooting. He also had gunshot-related wounds to his neck and chin.
According to police, a gun was found near Glass, and was taken into evidence.
Questioning by police reveals the dispute allegedly revolved around a domestic relationship dispute. One of those questioned called it an “internet beef.”
An arrest warrant was almost immediately issued for Houlden, while a warrant was obtained for Glass four days after the shooting. Houlden was arrested after being released from the Peoria hospital, while U.S. Marshals were among those finding Moore at an apartment and arresting him.
Houlden and Moore both face charges of murder, aggravated battery, and aggravated discharge of a firearm. Both are in custody at the Knox County Jail. They have both pleaded not guilty, and have pre-trial hearings scheduled for Sept. 9. Separate hearings in the case are also scheduled for Aug. 6. A trial could start as soon as Sept. 23.
