Richison, Larry

Larry Jay Richison, 63, of Galesburg, died on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.

He was born to Earl Wilson and Naoma “Pauline” (Lanear) Richison on June 5, 1961, in Kewanee, Illinois. Larry worked as a machinist at Caterpillar for over twenty years. He married Deborah A. Hensley on June 15, 1991, at Coldbrook Christian Church in Coldbrook, Illinois.

Larry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Deborah Richison of Galesburg; one son, Troy (Laura) Hensley of Washington, Illinois; three grandchildren: Brandon, Colin, Tyler Hensley, all of Washington. Also surviving are three brothers: Wess (Diane) Richison of Florida, Danny Richison, and Randy Richison of Cordova, Illinois; three sisters: Sandy Johnson of Galva, Illinois, Dixie Heaton of Kewanee, and Becky Richison-Ashlock of Colorado; and his beloved dog, Daisy. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Larry enjoyed gardening, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and playing guitar. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory in Galesburg. The funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Paster Jade Rogers will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be designated later.
