He walked in the doors 44 years ago, and never left the company, until now.

Peoria-based OSF HealthCare says Central Region CEO Bob Anderson is retiring after 44 years.

His last day will be January 3rd.

“It has been an honor and a joy for me to serve this organization and this community in various roles and capacities,” said Anderson, in a communication with OSF’s Mission Partners, or employees, according to a news release.  “I am proud of the achievements and accomplishments that we have made together. Thank you to all who have been part of my journey at OSF HealthCare.”

Anderson was a student when he first joined OSF in 1980, later pursuing a number of leadership roles.  He later became Chief Operating Officer of Saint Francis Medical Center, later becoming president.

He’s been a COO since 2022.

The hospital says a search will begin now for a replacement, so that there can be a smooth transition.
