Road improvements to Illinois 41 between Galesburg and Abingdon are expected to continue for at least the next two weeks.
Paul Wappel, public information officer for the Illinois Department of Transportation, tells WGIL construction crews are milling a 6-mile stretch of Illinois 41 south from Galesburg before seal work starts next week.
He said rock and oil will be applied to the road in an effort to try to preserve the life of the pavement. After the seal coat is applied, crews will add pavement markings to complete the project.
