The Galesburg Police Department will host the annual National Night Out from 5-7 p.m. today (Aug. 6) in Standish Park.
National Night Out is an annual event where communities across the country connect with law enforcement, promoting police-community partnerships for safer communities.
“2024 National Night Out allows us to bring police and neighbors together in a positive setting and help create a true sense of community,” said Police Chief Russ Idle.
Beyond Police and Fire representatives, including a K9 demo, residents can expect to interact with representatives from Bridgeway, United Way, Head Start, OSF Healthcare, Regional Office of Education #33, among many other community service agencies and area businesses.
Tompkins Street will be closed off to vehicle traffic from South Cedar Street to South Broad Street.
