The owner of a downtown Lewistown shop that suffered damage in a fire Wednesday says she won’t open the establishment back up.
Jodi Grigsby’s “Now and Again Boutique” on North Main Street near the Fulton County Courthouse tells WEEK-TV she had some insurance for the business, but not enough to recover and reopen.
It was Grigsby who called 911 around 4:00 p.m. Wednesday after she says she saw black smoke and flames.
She and residents of the apartments above were able to able to evacuate safely, but several pets lost their lives. The residents received assistance from the Salvation Army.
“Now and Again” sold clothes, shoes, and gift items. Many of the clothes were burned.
It’s believed an electrical issue caused the fire.
Grigsby tells WEEK she’s grateful to the multiple fire department who responded to the scene and helped the tenants out, saying, “Little towns are good like that.”
