Marie Therese (Dutkiewicz) Fike, 74, of LaSalle, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024, at her home.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru.
Born in Saint-Avold, France, on March 13, 1950, to Tadeusz “Ted” and Claire (Morela) Dutkiewicz, Marie moved with her family to LaSalle, Illinois, in 1957, where she attended school from elementary through high school. After graduating, she married Donald Fike and dedicated her life to raising her three children and doting on her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Marie was the epitome of a loving, gentle, and devoted mother, finding her true calling in nurturing her family.
Marie was not only a dedicated mother but also one of the most compassionate souls one could ever meet. She was often seen lending a helping hand to both friends and strangers, giving of herself selflessly and expecting nothing in return. Her kindness extended beyond her own family, as she became a second mother to many and touched countless lives with her warmth and generosity.
Marie Therese Dutkiewicz Fike lived a life brimming with love and laughter. Her infectious laugh will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her, leaving a legacy of joy that will be treasured always.
Marie leaves behind her three cherished children, AJ (Katrina) Fike, Aaron (Cassandra) Fike, and Suzanne (Jared) Meeker; her seven adored grandchildren, Kylie, Goldie, Lily, Emma, Dash, Milena, and Jameson; and her brother, Alex (Karen) Dutkiewicz.
Marie was preceded in death by her beloved parents.
