A standoff involving sheriffs deputies and a suspect that caused a school to go on lockdown for a time is over.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Edwards says the suspect was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. He says the name will not be released.
Warren and Mercer County sheriffs deputies went to an unidentified home in Alexis around 6:30 Monday morning for what was described as a suicidal subject who was armed.
Edwards says after negotiations the suspect surrendered the gun.
He says United North Elementary School was put on lockdown for awhile as a precaution.
No one was hurt.
