Minor injuries as semi hauling grain and van collide

Injuries are said to be minor following a crash Tuesday morning involving a semi hauling grain, and a van.

Knox County Sheriff Jack Harlan confirms the crash happened at U.S. 34 and Knox County Highway 9 outside of Galesburg, called in around 9:30 a.m.

Harlan says the semi was hauling corn and much of it spilled on to the highway.

He says the highway will be reopened once all the corm is cleaned up.

No word on what specifically caused the crash, but authorities have annually urged driving with caution near farm fields, especially this time of year, as harvest gets under way.
