A second arrest has been made connected to the death of former Maquon Police Chief Richard Young, 71.

Karen Doubet (Knox County Jail)

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said late Friday afternoon that investigators took Karen Doubet, 78, Maquon, into custody on a Knox County Warrant charging her with First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery Administering a Dangerous Substance, Concealment of a Homicidal Death, and Concealment of Death.

Reports of a foul odor coming from a storage locker in Maquon October 7, 2022, led to the discovery of Young’s body inside a box.

Marcy Oglesby, 52, faces similar charges following a ruling late last year by an appellate court.  She is currently out of jail and is scheduled to be back in court December 10 for a status hearing.

It’s not clear when Doubet will make her first appearance in court.
