Treat Street, the city’s annual trick-or-treating event, is set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 in downtown Galesburg. The event is sponsored by Downtown Community Partnership of Galesburg.
Due to popular demand and increasing attendance, Main Street will be closed — Cherry Street to Seminary Street — during the event, creating a safe, pedestrian-friendly zone for families to enjoy. Last year, Treat Street attracted over 1,500 attendees, and this year is expected to draw even more families from Galesburg and the surrounding areas.
In addition to the classic candy collection, this year’s event will include additional kid’s activities and food vendors.
“We’re so excited to see Treat Street grow each year, and we can’t wait to share the expanded event with the community,” said Kate Bullis, President of the Downtown Community Partnership of Galesburg. “With more activities, food, and the closure of Main Street, we’re providing an even safer, more festive environment for families to enjoy.”
