Denver M. Lumberry, 27, of Williamsfield, passed away surrounded by his loved ones at his home on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

Denver was born on August 1, 1997, in Galesburg. He was the son of James “Jim” and Misty (Bouchez) Lumberry. He married the love of his life, Bailey J. Howard on September 26, 2020, in Norris, Illinois. Surviving Denver are his wife, Bailey of Williamsfield; son Rhett; his parents, Jim and Misty Lumberry of Herford, AZ; siblings, Chandler Lumberry of Herford, AZ; maternal grandparents, Bruce and Diana Bouchez of LaFayette; paternal grandmother, Martha Lumberry of Herford, AZ; aunts and uncles, Bruce “Buddy” (Kylee) Bouchez of Williamsfield; April Bouchez of LaFayette; Emily (Brock) Milford of Spotsylvania, VA and Jeff (Elaine) Lumberry of Herford, AZ; nieces and nephews, Kolton Brewer, Charlotte Brewer, Ambrose Brewer; Daxton Howard; Michael Lumberry and George Johnson, Jr.; and cousins, Kash Bouchez and Kynlee Bouchez of Williamsfield; Angelina Adame of Lafayette and Brittany Milford and Madison Milford of Spotsylvania, VA. Denver was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Leonard “Ed” Lumberry, father-in-law, Jody Howard, great-grandparents, Emile (Patsy) Bouchez and Merlin (Leona) Yelm, uncles, Gilbert “Stretch” Bouchez and Dave Kimmitt and cousin, Wesley Bell.

Denver attended Southeast Lineman Training Center in Trenton, Georgia. He graduated in 2018, class 55. He went on to work for Utility Lines Construction Service (ULCS) of Shelby, NC from 2019-2020. He started working at Alliant Energy in 2020 as a 1st step apprentice and was currently working as an 8th step apprentice in Cedar Rapids, IA. Denver was a member of the Union IBEW Local 204 of Cedar Rapids. Growing up, Denver loved riding dirt bikes. He enjoyed motocross racing and hill climbing. In his free time, Denver could be found hunting (ducks and geese), fishing or shooting guns. He also enjoyed making duck calls and spending time with his dog, Calvin. Most importantly, he loved to spend time with his family, especially his boy, Rhett.

Denver never met a stranger; he made friends everywhere he went. His laughter was contagious and his humor was unforgettable. He was known for his quick-witted comments and his daily pranks. He simply was unforgettable.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville. Funeral services will be noon Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the funeral home. Rev. Jordan Knight will officiate. Burial will follow funeral services at the Williamsfield Cemetery. Celebration of Life to follow the services at Nowhere Bar and Grill in Victoria. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory are assisting the family with arrangements.
