The brackets for the 2024 Illinois High School Association football playoffs have been announced, and most of the qualifying teams from the FM 95/WGIL-area will play first-round games on their home fields.
Game times and dates will officially be announced Monday afternoon by the IHSA. First round games are set for Nov. 1-2. Where noted, some teams already have announced dates for the first round.
In Class 4A, No. 8 Macomb (7-2) will play host to No. 9 Murphysboro (7-2) at 3 p.m. Saturday. No. 15 Kewanee (5-4) is the only area team that will travel in the first round, playing at No. 2 Richland County (9-0), TBA.
In Class 3A, No. 6 seed Monmouth-Roseville (8-1) will play host to No. 11 Paxton-Buckley-Loda (6-3) at 4 p.m. Saturday.
In Class 2A, No. 1 seed and unbeaten Farmington will play a first-round home game against. No. 16 Deer Creek-Mackinaw (5-4) at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
Also in Class 2A, No. 4 Elmwood/Brimfield (8-1) will play host to No. 13 Fithian Oakwood (5-4) at 7 p.m. Friday.
And No. 8 Rockridge (7-2) will play host to No. 9 Lanark (Eastland) [Eastland-Pearl City Coop] (7-2) in Taylor Ridge, date and time TBA.
In Class 1A, No. 8 Annawan/Wethersfield (6-3) will play at home against No. 9 Rockford Lutheran (6-3). Game date and time has not yet been announced.
Also in Class 1A, No. 5 Stark County (8-1) will play at home at 2 p.m. Saturday against No. 12 Galena (5-4).
Four teams from the Western Big 6 Conference qualified for the playoffs. Those teams are:
- 16 Geneseo (5-4) at 1 Chicago Sullivan (9-0) in Class 4A
- 13 Sterling (5-4) at 4 Wheaton St. Francis (7-2) in Class 5A
- 31 Summit Argo (5-4) at 2 Quincy (9-0) in Class 7A
- 18 Addison Trail (7-2) at 15 Moline (7-2) in Class 7A
In Class 6A, No. 15 Dunlap (6-3) plays at 7 p.m. Friday at No. 2 Oak Lawn Richards (8-1).
