Newly elected Knox County office holders were sworn-in Monday, and with it the County Board elected a Chairman at a special organizational meeting.
Republican Jared Hawkinson will remain Chair after he garnered the most votes in a party line vote, as Republican holds a 9-6 majority.
Hawkinson now will serve a two-year term as County Board Chair, as he’s been since 2020.
Longtime Republican County Board member Brian Friedrich, from District 5, will serve as Vice Chairman.
New County Board members seated on Monday include Tracy Robertson in District 1 and Jennifer Fredrick in District 2.
Also sworn in on Monday were new State’s Attorney Ashley Worby, Coroner Jacque Dare and Circuit Clerk Mary Ostrander as well as County Board members Erin Pugh, Kimberly Thierry, Josh Kramer, Patty Boone and Rick Sandoval.
