A new women’s boutique that offers stylish, trendy, yet affordable clothing in addition to decor, accessors and gifts is set to open this spring in downtown Galesburg.
Fashion Farm Boutique, with stores in Farmington and Kickapoo, expects to open in April at 72 N. Seminary St., most recently home to Brighter Life gift shop next to Innkeeper’s Fresh Roasted Coffee.
Knoxville native Lisa Deppermann, owner of Fashion Farm Boutique, tells WGIL, “We always thought two was enough, but things change. I have a huge customer base from Galesburg, Knoxville, Monmouth and Macomb, and my mom and sister would always say we would kill it in Galesburg. Then, the Brighter Life store became available, and everything just seemed to align.
“It’s just a gorgeous building, and we’re right next door to a beautiful coffee shop. I feel like it has so much potential. It’s perfect, and I think it will be a great fit.”
Depperman, who lives on a farm in rural Farmington with her husband Beau and their two sons, started Fashion Farm Boutique out of their home nine years ago.
A fashion major in college, Deppermann said her business evolved from selling out of the home to taking her business on the road to pop-up events, and eventually store fronts in Farmington and Kickapoo in 2020.
The Knoxville High School graduate who still has family in the area describes her line as stylish, trendy, size inclusive and affordable.
“I definitely take pride in having something for everybody,” Deppermann said. “I like to say my grandmother could find something, and she could bring her granddaughter, too.”
‘We definitely don’t sell farm clothes’
Deppermann cautioned people with misinterpreting the name of her business.
“We live on a farm, and that’s where the name comes from — but we definitely don’t sell farm clothes,” she said.
In addition to clothing, Fashion Farm Boutique offers accessories, shoes and gift items.
“I think people are excited,” Deppermann. “The reaction to the news that we’re opening in Galesburg has been even better than I anticipated.
“There’s really not a lot we have to do to open except to put our shelving in, hang the clothes and make it ours.”
Hours for Fashion Farm Boutique in Galesburg are expected to be 10 a.m to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
