Kewanee man facing numerous weapons charges, including felony gunrunning

A Kewanee man is in custody in the Henry County Jail facing numerous weapons charges, including felony gunrunning.

On Tuesday, the Kewanee Police Department assisted the Black Hawk Area Task Force  in executing a search warrant in the 1200 block of Roseview Avenue as part of an investigation into the sale and production of non-serialized firearms.  

The suspect, identified as Bobby Charlet, 24, of Kewanee, was taken into custody without incident. A search of Charlet’s residence resulted in the seizure of the following items:  

 

Charlet was transported to the Henry County Jail.  

On Thursday, the Henry County State’s Attorney’s Office formally charged Charlet with  the following offenses resulting from the investigation and the evidence seized during the search warrant:  

 

A Class 1 Felony carries a potential sentence of 4 to 15 years in the Illinois Department of  Corrections. Charlet was granted pretrial release.
