Leonard “Lenny” Guerrero Jr., 75, of Dahinda, Illinois, died at 8:26 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Lenny was born January 21, 1950, in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Leonard and Helen (Padilla) Guerrero Sr.  Lenny graduated from Galesburg High School in 1968.  He then began a career at Butler MFG. as a steelworker that spanned for 35 years, retiring in 2005.  On July 11, 1970, Lenny married Christina Marie Pouche at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Galesburg.  

Lenny is survived by his wife of 54 years, Christina of Dahinda; their three daughters, Kelly Guerrero of Springfield, Illinois, Andrea Guerrero of Dahinda; and Wendy (Dan) Krieder of St. Charles, Illinois; five grandchildren, Alexandria, Zane, Logan, Danny, and Aiden.  He is also survived by two brothers, Lupe Guerrero and Ronnie Guerrero both of Galesburg; and two sisters, Diane (Miguel) Rosiles and Helen Guerrero both of Galesburg.  Along with his parents, Lenny was preceded in death by one sister, Dolly.

An avid golfer, Lenny was a longtime member of the Greenbusters, hosted and co-founded the local Mexican Golf Tournament, played in the Tuesday Men’s League at Oak Run, and carded two holes-in-one.  He was a longtime of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #880 and was a member of the 1968 GHS football team inducted into the hall of fame.  Lenny was also an accomplished tennis, handball, and racquetball player winning numerous awards.  Of all those things, most of all, Lenny loved being a grandpa to his five grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  A prayer service will follow at 4 p.m.  Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate.  Memorial contributions may be made to Knox County Humane Society or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
