Stone, Marilyn M.

Marilyn M. Stone, 92, of Knoxville, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Knox County Nursing Home. 

Marilyn was born on July 13, 1932, in Woodhull. She was the daughter of Charles and Lavon (Eiker) Calderone. She married Lee W. Stone in January of 1951. She later married Raymond Jezek. Surviving Marilyn are her children, Stephen Stone of Knoxville, Gordon Stone of Tempe, AZ, BJ (Kim) Stone of Island Lake, IL and Susan Oremus of Jackson, WY; eleven grandchildren, Chrissy Stone, Michael Stone, Nicole Stone, Jason Stone, Tony Stone, Andrew Stone, Benjamin Stone, Rachel Stone, Emma Oremus, Jack Oremus, Isabella Oremus and their significant others; fourteen great grandchildren; and siblings, Rodney (Bonnie) Calderone of Sherrard, Patty (the late Larry) Majeski of Prophetstown, Chuck (Donna) Calderone of Prophetstown, Joyce (Glenn) Lemaster, Jan (Joe) Miles and Keith (Vicky) Bognar all of the Quad Cities. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouses, infant son, Bradley, granddaughter, Katie Stone and daughter-in-law, Jackie Stone. 

Marilyn graduated from Aledo High School in 1951. She had a hard work ethic and worked as a CNA for St. Mary’s Hospital, an Occupational Therapy Assistant for Northside Drug Store and at Federal Freedom and Loans. She was a charter member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church of Galesburg. Marilyn was also a member of the Galesburg Chapter 115, Women of the Moose Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting and needle point. She also loved to travel and when her children were younger, go camping, and play the slots. 

Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville. Visitation will follow from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025, at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow visitation starting at 11:30 a.m. Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Monday, February 3, 2025, at the Aledo Cemetery, Aledo. Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville are assisting the family with arrangements.
