Regional Office of Education 33 Superintendent Jodi Scott announced on Thursday that she intends to retire from the post on June 30.
Assistant Regional Superintendent Lori Loving also will retire the same day.
Scott has been superintendent of Regional Office of Education 33 since 2014 when Knox County’s ROE consolidated with Henderson, Mercer and Warren Counties.
Scott most recently was elected to the office in 2022. The news release did not specify who would fill the position.
She began her career in education in 1993 at Union (now West Central) as a lead teacher and Early Childhood educator.
In 2000, Scott became an educational consultant for ROE #27, writing grants and facilitating early childhood training. Scott later took on the role of assistant regional superintendent in 2004 and then moved into regional superintendent in 2007.
A news release from the ROE 33 says Scott’s “service to the region and tenure in education for the past thirty years has cemented Regional Office of Education #33 as the foremost authority in Illinois regarding early childhood education, Regional Alternative Education Services, 21st CCLC, and more.”
