These 12 Galesburg-area boys wrestlers are headed to the 2025 IHSA state finals

Twelve athletes from the Galesburg/WGIL/FM-95 area — including a trio of Galesburg Silver Streaks — will compete in the IHSA Boys State Wrestling Championships starting Thursday at State Farm Center in Champaign.

Silver Streaks competing in Class 2A at state will be seniors Josiah Carter (37-11) and Larry Randolph (36-13) at 150 and 285 pounds, respectively, and junior Anthony Makwala (39-6) at 165 pounds.

Other Galesburg-area state qualifiers include:

Knoxville: Brydon Walters (Jr., 190, 29-8).

Monmouth-Roseville: Alex Gandarilla (Jr., 215, 33-10).

Farmington: Bradlee Ellis (Jr., 144, 41-4).

Canton: Jacob Hardesty (Soph. 120, 33-8); Connor Williams (Jr., 285, 34-0), Jaxsun Owens (Soph., 106, 28-10); Dyllan Steele (Jr., 126, 31-4); Alex Carrier (Soph., 144, 29-13); and Gus Lidwell (Sr., 175, 14-11).
