Wynona L. Lynch, age 86, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 1:45 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois.
She was born on May 14, 1938, in Cullman, Alabama, the daughter of Mitchel and Dorothy (Harbinson) Tucker. She married James C. Butts on December 22, 1956 in Harvey, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1992. She then married Larry Lynch in 2004 in Monmouth, Illinois.
Surviving is her husband, Larry Lynch of Monmouth, Illinois; children: Debbie (Curt) Perdue of Abingdon, Illinois, Dana (Doug) Johnson of Knoxville, Illinois, Roger (Marta) Butts of Timnath, Colorado; Larry (Sharyn) Lynch of Chesapeake, Virginia and Michael (Chris) Lynch of Chicago, Illinois. She is survived by thirteen grandchildren: Joshua (Susan) Johnson of Williams Bay, Wisconsin, Sarah (Shane) Puckett of East Peoria, Illinois, Joel (Brittney Salle) Johnson of Oneida, Illinois, Grant (Amy) Perdue of De Moines, Iowa, Luke (Kathy Nguyen) Perdue of Chicago, Illinois, Seth (Brittany) Johnson of Williamsfield, Illinois, J. Christian Johnson of Williams Bay, Wisconsin, Jacob (Delaney) Perdue of Decatur, Georgia, Norah Butts, Nick Butts, and Nina Butts all of Timnath, Colorado; Six step-grandchildren: Joey Lynch of Chesapeake, Virginia, Ashely (Dakota) Smith of Galesburg, Damion Lynch of Galesburg, Jordan and Alyssa Schick of Plainfield, Illinois, and Chase Lynch of Plainfield, Illinois; 12 great grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Tucker of Arizona and Wayne Tucker of Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, James Butts; one brother, James Tucker and two sisters, Brenda Malone and Juanita Jester.
She was a secretary for PBS in Elkhart, Indiana and dispatcher for the former Morgan Driveaway Trucking in Galesburg, Illinois. She was a member of Community Bible Church in Knoxville, Illinois. She enjoyed watching tennis, movies and dancing. She loved her children and grandchildren. She died the way she lived, making friends with the residents and staff at the Knox County Nursing Home and anyone who had the time to talk. She had a rich heritage of faith and family which formed the core of her life and sustained her in her sickness. She was a joyful light to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
