
Galesburg’s Carson Olson was a two-time state medalist at the Illinois High School Association boys swimming and diving state meet on Saturday at the FMC Natatorium in Westmont.
A senior, Carson finished in ninth in the 200-yard individual medley with a school record time of 1:51.95. He also placed 14th in the 100-yard butterfly (:50.00). He recorded a school record time of :49.64 in Friday’s preliminaries.
Also performing at the state meet for the Streaks were Ryan Tapper, Travis Henry, Nathan Nelson, Anders Bergren, Brayden McGuire, Chace Parcel and alternate Jackson Warren.
Galesburg finished with 12 points for 29th place out of over 100 teams at the single-class state championships.
“Congrats to all of our swimmers and diver for representing GHS very well,” said Streaks coach Ray Van Hootegem.
