Robert Wayne Worman

Robert Wayne Worman was born October 26, 1940, to CJ Worman and Delilah Rhoades Worman, in Evansville, IN. He attended elementary and high school there. He graduated from the University of Evansville with a degree in education in 1962. He later received his Master’s degree from Western Illinois University. He married Judith A. Smith on May 26th, 1963. She survives as well as his two daughters, Emma L. McKinnon and S. Kate Becker (Chris W. Becker) of Petersburg, IL,  granddaughter Jaime McKinnon-Curry, of Springfield, MO. and one sister, Barbara (Darryl) Brown of Evansville, IN.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Dee Hood, Jim Worman, Juanita Braemer, and grandson Clay Becker.

Bob taught school in the Abingdon, IL district, along side his wife, from 1962 – 1995. He was a dedicated high school teacher of English and composition. He also spent summers working in carpentry and farming.

He was a member of Good Hope – Sciota Lions Club. Bob was also an active and beloved member of the Good Hope United Methodist Church.

Bob enjoyed traveling with friends. He loved to read any subject, but a favorite topic was ancient archeology. He had a green thumb growing beautiful gardens, bonsai trees and cacti. He was also a painter and created beautiful stained-glass pieces when he retired. Most of all, Bob loved spending time with, and caring for his beloved wife, daughters, extended family, and friends. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Bob was a man of deep faith. Memorials can be made to the Good Hope United Methodist Church, 300 W. Main St., Good Hope, IL 61438.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services.
