As many bowling alleys continue to shudder or face the wrecking ball, Revolution Bowl and Diner in Roseville is thriving under new ownership.
The 6-lane bowling alley/restaurant/bar is celebrating its success with an official ribbon cutting event at noon Friday. Revolution Bowl and Diner is located at 120 Penn Ave. in Roseville.
“Even though we’ve been here for 16 months, we just want to let people know we’re here,” said Chuck Steck, who owns Revolution Bowl with his wife Christine and son Charlie.
“I still here from people who don’t even know we’re here.”
Steck said his family purchased the bowling alley to fulfill a lifelong goal of his son.
“Charlie is a gifted bowler who’s worked in bowling alleys his entire life,” Steck said. “This just became a good opportunity for us to be able to buy a bowling alley and let him live his dream.”

In addition to the 6-lane bowling alley—which includes Cosmic bowling—Revolution has a rentable event room that seats up to 50 people, along with a full-service diner and bar, and video gaming machines.
“We’re one of the few family-friendly places around where you can come and bowl, eat and have some fun at a reasonable cost,” Steck said.
The Revolution Diner is open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, when it serves breakfast all day. They specialize in hand-tossed pizza.
“And I think bowling is really making a comeback,” Steck said. “People are starting to come back to it, and they really love the Cosmic bowling with the black lights and strobe lights.
“One of the reasons we bought the bowling alley was to get the kids involved. If we can get them involved while they’re young, it’s something they can enjoy for the rest of their lives.
“Whether you’re from Galesburg or Monmouth or Macomb, come and bowl.”
