One person is dead following a single-vehicle west of Victoria on Sunday evening.
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, a 2017 Chevrolet hatchback was traveling eastbound on Illinois Route 167 and Knox Road 1650 East, west of Victoria, around 5:12 p.m. Sunday when it crossed the roadway into the north ditch and struck a fixed object, resulting in airbag deployment.
Don L Gilliam. 73, Wyoming, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene by Knox County Coroner Jacque Dare.
The Knox County Coroner, GHAS, and Victoria Fire also responded to the scene.
The accident is under investigation.
