You’ll soon be able to clean your clothes and your vehicle at a new business venture in Galesburg.

Local development group Benedict Holdings is transforming the property at 1134 N.  Henderson St. into the Laundry Lounge and Precision Touchless car wash.

Nestled between McDonald’s and Walgreen’s, the complex promises a modern, family-friendly experience, with both businesses expected to open within the next four months.

Laundry Lounge aims to redefine the laundromat experience with state-of-the-art Speed Queen equipment, including larger machines capable of handling comforters and bulky items. The laundromat will feature 6 100-pound washing machines, 12 40-pound washing machines, and 10 20-pound washing machines, alongside 18 45-pound dryers and 6 75-pound dryers.

“The machines will speak for themselves,” said Rob Benedict, one of the owners of Benedict Holdings, the family-run company behind the project.

The laundromat will include a learning center for kids, free Wi-Fi, TVs, games and a toddler play area, creating what Benedict calls “a safe and enjoyable environment.

“Historically, laundromats are tight and jammed in,” Benedict said. “We want this to be upscale, comfortable, and nice—a place people enjoy visiting.”

Benedict said the Laundry Lounge building still has two suites ready to build out for rent.

Next door, Precision Touchless car wash will offer a 24-hour, two-bay, touchless washing system, including the advanced Petit 360 I XT. Designed to accommodate a range of vehicles, from standard cars to vans with ladder racks, dually and service trucks, the car wash will fulfill both individual and commercial needs with monthly passes available. Vehicles will enter from Henderson Street and exit west onto Olive Street or back onto Henderson.

With double spray arms and precisely designed oscillating spray heads, the car washes are built for speed and deliver quadruple the cleaning power and can wash taller, wider vehicles in just 2 to 3 minutes, faster than most automatics.

Both businesses will operate cashless.

Rob Benedict—who owns Benedict Holdings alongside his sons Blake, Trent and Adam—sees the project as addressing significant local needs.

“There’s a tremendous need for both the laundromat and the car wash,” he said, “and it gives us an opportunity to serve the community in a safe environment.”
