Frank E. Unger, age 88, died on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the Comfort House Hospice in McAllen, Texas.
He was born on November 7, 1936, in Peoria, Illinois the son of George and Mary Jane (Garrison) Unger. He married Gene L. Moore on June 22, 1956 in Abingdon, Illinois, she preceded him in death on February 3, 1990, then married Dorohty Pampel in January 1991.
Surviving is his wife Dorothy Unger of Pharr, Texas. His daughters, Linda Sue Unger and Barbara (Ronald) Ploense; his stepson, Steven (Sabrina) Pampel, and stepdaughter, Sharon (Ted) Northcutt; grandchildren: Jodi (Gordon) Rolison, Kim (Steve) Neese, Lilly Pampel and Trent Pampel; Great Grandchildren: Park Neese, Tyler Neese, Trevor Rolison, and Zoey Pampel; and several great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Gene.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He worked in marketing for FS Seed for many years, and served as minister from 1958 to 1970 at the United Methodist Church.
Cremation rites will be accorded at the Sacred Park Crematory in Weslaco, Texas. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, at the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois.
