CHICAGO (AP) –Chicago police say officers rescued a man and a woman who tried to swim across the Chicago River downtown.
Authorities say police received a call after 6 a.m. Sunday of a person in the water and the department’s marine unit rescued a 32-year-old woman and 29-year-old man from the main branch. The Chicago Tribune reports they were trying to swim across when officers said they had a hard time staying afloat.
They were pulled from the water.
Both refused medical attention at the scene.
