Al D. Henderson, 80, of Galesburg, died at 7:42 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.She was born August 17, 1937, in Jackson, Tennessee, the daughter of Mayleena Savage.
She is survived by her husband, Leon Henderson of Galesburg; four sons, Mothe (Valerie) Smith of Galesburg, Thomas Smith of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Danny Lee (Ramona) Smith of Burlington, Iowa, and Paul (Danielle) Smith of Phoenix, Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and a sister, Rose McBride of Springfield, Illinois.
Al D. lived in Jackson, Tennessee until 1975, when she relocated to Springfield, Illinois. There she was a tour guide at the Old State Capitol. She moved to Galesburg in 1980 and worked in environmental services at Knox College until retiring.
Visitation will begin at noon, Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.
