Galesburg Police responded to the now City-owned Churchill Junior High Thursday, August 4th for a report of a burglary. Officers received the same complaint the day prior. Police met with the complainant who said the last couple of days, kids had been breaking into the building. He told police the lights had been left on, fire extinguishers had been sprayed and kids were going through the classrooms and playing basketball in the gym and hallways. Since the report, all the doors and windows have been properly secured. A rear entrance that did not lock properly was secured with a chain. According to police reports, extra patrols will be issued to the area of the building.
