Kenneth A. “Bud” “Pete” Peterson, 86, of Knoxville passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at 7:04 PM at Seminary Manor, Galesburg.
Bud was born on March 7, 1936, in Knoxville. He was the son of Kenneth J. and Hazel L. (Fox) Peterson. He married the love of his life, Donna R. Riggs on August 14, 1955, in Galesburg. Together they celebrated 67 years of marriage. Bud is survived by his loving wife at home, sisters Evelyn Johnson and Marjorie Neff, both of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert.
Bud was a Knoxville graduate. He owned and operated Pete’s Auto Body in Galesburg, opening the doors in 1955. He built the new building on Grand Avenue in 1989 and retired in 2013.
A private family graveside service was held at the Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville are assisting the family with arrangements.
