Graham Health System’s expansion into Galesburg continues as the growing medical company has acquired more land on the far north side of town.

The Canton-based health care group, which recently opened a convenient care clinic in Galesburg, has purchased approximately 40 acres of land near the intersection of North Seminary Street and Carl Sandburg Drive for an undisclosed use. Most recently utilized as farm land, the large tract spans from Burger King south to the Circle Drive subdivision, and west to houses that face Broad Street.

The selling agent, Dahl Real Estate, lists the address of the property as 2300 N. Seminary St.

WGIL reported on Jan. 6 that Graham Hospital Association purchased two parcels of land totaling 40.3 acres on Jan. 4 from Schachtrup Enterprises Management Company, LLC of Central Illinois. The transaction was for $5,175,000, according to records obtained from the Knox County Assessor office.

The listing from Dahl Real Estate says 19.8 acres of the property is zoned B-2 Commercial, and 16.7 acres is currently zoned for residential condominiums.

Graham Health System has declined to comment on what it plans to do with the newly acquired property. According to the property transfer, Graham Hospital Association is an Illinois Not-For-Profit Corporation.

Graham Medical Group’s Convenient Care clinic in Galesburg opened Sept. 6 at 1174 N. Seminary St. in the former Hayden Chiropractic Clinic. The Convenient Care Clinic is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and accepts same-day appointments or walk-ins. In addition to Convenient Care options, the clinic also offers providers for family medicine, women’s health, podiatry and diabetes management. Provider hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

News of Graham’s land acquisition comes nearly a year after Galesburg Cottage Hospital closed on Jan. 8, 2022. OSF HealthCare System bought the former Cottage Hospital from Galesburg Hospital Corp. for $4 million in April.

OSF has since relocated its Prompt Care Clinic to the former Cottage emergency department, and earlier this month opened an OSF OnCall Urgent Care clinic at 2779 Volunteer Drive, Suite 201, near the Walmart location.
