Pete Weber has done just about everything possible in the world of sports broadcasting, and at the highest level. The Galesburg native and 1969 graduate of Costa High School is about to enter his 25th season as the play-by-play voice for the NHL’s Nashville Predators, first on television and now his 8th season on radio.
He’s also called hockey for the Los Angeles Kings and Buffalo Sabres, and Team USA at the 1984 Winter Olympics.
But Pete isn’t all hockey. He’s broadcast NBA games for the Seattle SuperSonics, served as a color commentator on Los Angeles Lakers games, was part of the broadcast team for each of the Buffalo Bills’ four Super Bowl appearances, and called thousands of minor league baseball games.
A four-time regional Emmy award winner and nine-time Tennessee Sportscaster of the Year award winner, Pete joins WGIL's Jay Redfern to talk about his time in Galesburg and his impressive sports broadcasting journey.
