Meteor Madness: The Draconid Meteor Shower Viewing Party

Carl Sandburg College’s Alumni Relations invites you to spend an evening under the stars at our Draconid Meteor Shower Viewing Party from 6 t0 8 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Fine Arts Theater at Carl Sandburg College.

Sandburg physics instructor Stewart Ferrell will present a brief overview of the new telescope and astrophotography equipment and demonstrate the virtual reality software available to students at Carl Sandburg College. A question-and-answer session follows with a chance to stargaze outside.

Astronomy-themed refreshments provided from Innkeeper’s Coffee will be available beginning at 6 p.m.

Advanced registration is preferred, however, not necessary. In the event of inclement weather, the night-sky view will be canceled.
