An Abingdon man is facing attempted murder charges after Knox County Deputies arrested him Thursday.
Deputies along with GHAS and Abingdon first responders were called to the 100 block of East Martin St in Abingdon for a report of a 42-year-old male who was unconscious and bleeding from the head.
The victim was treated at the scene and then taken to OSF St. Mary’s Emergency Room.
He has since been transferred to a trauma unit out of state and is in stable condition at this time.
Upon further investigation, deputies learned that the victim lived with an individual who was later identified as the suspect.
Police further learned that the victim and suspect were involved in a verbal altercation that became physical.
As officers searched the area they located 44-year-old Adam German hiding in a shed on an adjacent property.
German was taken into custody without incident.
