A family-owned and operated tunnel car wash company featuring state-of-the-art technology has opened a second location in Galesburg.
Champion Xpress Carwash served its first customers early Thursday morning at 1819 N. Henderson St. The tunnel car wash is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Champion Xpress operates 48 locations across New Mexico, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, and Texas, and has an aggressive expansion goal of 55 sites by the 2024 year-end.
Customers at the new car wash will receive a free top wash with ceramic wax (valued at $26) through September 5, and Champion Xpress will donate to Galesburg Christian School Athletics on behalf of each guest.

The existing location at 334 E. Carl Sandburg Dr. has undergone nearly $100,000 in improvements over the past year, including new blowers, a high pressure rinse arch, a new vacuum system and a new water purification system.
