The Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team fell in the MercyOne Genesis Shootout on the campus of Augustana to the Davenport Central Blue Devils, 74-56. The Streaks fell behind early after a 13-4 Central run, which left the Streaks clawing and scratching their way back into the game. The Streaks could never make a significant run to ultimately close the deficit. The Streaks fall to 4-8 on the season.
The Streaks were lead in scoring by Keigen Crummer and Demetrius Watson with 19. Watson for the second night in a row eclipsed a career high in points. He also led the Streaks in rebounding with 9. The Streaks went 22 of 52 from the field, 4 of 18 from three, and 8 of 10 from the free throw line. The Streaks outrebounded Central 31-25 and had 11 assists to 17 turnovers.
Keigen Crummer for his efforts was named Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. Crummer did everything he could do to rally the Streaks towards a run as he was everywhere on the court. Along with his 19 points, he finished with 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals.
