A 20-year-old was treated for a gunshot wound after Galesburg Police responded to a report of gunshots early Monday on North Chambers Street.
According to a news release, at 2:26 a.m. Monday the Galesburg Police Department responded to the 200 block of North Chambers Street in reference to gunshots being fired.
A 20-year-old victim, with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, was located. The victim was subsequently transported by Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Service to the OSF St. Mary Medical Center emergency room where he was treated for his injury. A house in the 200 block of N. Chambers was found to have bullet holes on the exterior of the house. No other victims were located.
Galesburg Police Chief Russ Idle says the investigation is ongoing, and at this time, names are not being released.
