Free veteran and senior health fair in Galesburg

State Representative Dan Swanson is joining with Seminary Estates, Hawthorne Inn and Seminary Manor of Seminary Village in Galesburg to host a FREE Veteran & Senior Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 12 at Galesburg Knights of Columbus, 1556 E. Fremont St.

There will be health screenings on site, as well as nearly 40 vendors with helpful information about programs and services available to local veterans and seniors. The Lions Sight and Hearing Bus will be on site giving free vision and hearing screenings.

This year the event will add an electronics recycling event. Anyone with old computers, phones or other electronic equipment that needs to be disposed of can come by and drop it off for free recycling.

Complimentary refreshments and the opportunity to register for a door prize will be available as well.

Bridgette Teel, manager of Hawthorne Inn Assisted Living, and Megan Brown, manager of Seminary Estates Independent Living, join Swanson to talk about the event with WGIL's Chris Postin on Galesburg In Focus.
