The Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team began a series of six road games at Quincy Tuesday night and lost to the Blue Devils, 77 - 35. Quincy is now 20-1 on the season and currently ranked 3rd in the state in Class 4A.

Galesburg started out fast taking a 5-0 lead at the start of the game, but then went cold. They didn't score a basket again until about the 6 minute mark of the 2nd quarter. By that time, Quincy had gone on a 27-1 run and by halftime had a 31-point lead. Silver Streaks are now 5-16 on the season and 0-7 in Western Big 6 conference games.

Junior Tyree Taylor was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch-Time Player of the Game. He led the Silver Streaks in both points and rebounds, scoring his varsity career high in points in a game with 14.

Next up for Galesburg is another conference game Friday night (1/26) at United Township to take on the Panthers. Brad Bennewitz and Jason Wessels will bring you the action starting with the pregame at 6:40 Friday night on 93.7 FM & 1400 AM  WGIL, as well as streaming on wgil.com.
