The Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team fell to the Jacksonville Crimsons in their second game of the Taylorville Holiday Tournament, 68-36. The Streaks played Jacksonville for only the third time in school history and first time in 30 years. The Streaks were without Ian Dominique who suffered an injury in their last game. Without the presence of one of their leaders, the Streaks could never truly get themselves into the game. The Streaks are now 4-10 on the season.
Senior Jack Hillhouse was named the Dave's Auto body Crunch-Time Player of the Game for providing a spark in the second quarter to drop their deficit to 12 points heading into the half. Hillhouse finished with 5 points for the game.
The Streaks will return to action later tonight (12/28) in bracket play at the Taylorville Holiday Tournament against Western Big 6 competitor Sterling. Brad Bennewitz and Jason Wessels will bring you live coverage starting with the pregame at 4:40 PM on 93.7 FM & 1400 AM WGIL, as well as streaming on wgil.com.
