The Galesburg Silver Streaks girls basketball team lose their first game of the season at the Cooks County Holiday Tournament to the host Mattoon Green Wave, 44-32. The Streaks had a tough start in the first half that saw them having to claw back from double digits. Despite a good effort from the bench in the fourth quarter, the deficit was too much for the Streaks. The GHS Girls are now 16-1 on the season.

Junior Josslyn Peck was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch-Time Player of the Game for her performance in the fourth quarter. She finished with 4 points, 2 blocks, and 1 rebound.

The Streaks will play their final game of the tournament tonight (12/29) in the third-place game against Sullivan. Tom Meredith and Erik Gibson will bring you the action starting with the pregame at 5:40 PM on 92.7 FM The Laser. The game will also be on 93.7 FM & 1400 AM WGIL, as well as streaming on wgil.com, after coverage of GHS Silver Streaks boys basketball.
