GHS Boys Fall in Season Opener to Limestone

The Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team played their first game of the season Wednesday (11/22) night against the Limestone Rockets in the first game of the Thanksgiving Tournament. The Streaks started off hot with a 5-0 lead; however, the Rockets quickly took the lead and never surrendered it. The Streaks had opportunities to get themselves back in the game, but their efforts proved to be short. The Streaks are now 0-1 for the season.

Sophomore Jaxon Wyatt won the season's first Dave's Auto Body Crunch-Time Player of the Game for his effort in a comeback attempt late in the first half. Wyatt finished with 7 points and 4 assists.

The GHS Boys return to action on Friday (11/24) to take on the Ogden Owls for the second game in the Thanksgiving Tournament. Brad Bennewitz and Jason Wessels will bring you live coverage starting with the pregame at 6:10pm on 93.7 FM & 1400 AM, WGIL.
