With GHS alumni in attendance for Hall of Fame night, the Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team mount an ecstatic 19-point come from behind victory in overtime over the Wells Raiders, 71-65. In the final game of the Thanksgiving Tournament, The Streaks found themselves down by 17 at end of the third quarter which increased to a 19-point Wells advantage in the fourth; however, the Streaks were resilient and produced a 14-0 run that started a comeback attempt. Despite Wells appearing to put the game out of reach, the Streaks kept fighting back which resulted in them tying the game at the end of the fourth quarter to force overtime. The Streaks would go on to win against a depleted Wells squad to secure an incredible victory. The Streaks improve to 3-1 on the season.
There was multiple Streaks nominated for Dave's Auto Body Crunch-Time Player of the Game. Senior Jace Keith was nominated for his performance in the second half which saw 20 of his 23 points connect. Senior Gino Williams was nominated for his second half performance where he made the game-tying shot to send the game to overtime. Gino had 14 points, hitting his last five of the game, and also finished with 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Sophomore Leslie Kelley was given the nod by the broadcast team as well for being the glue of the team when they were down big. He finished with 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.
