The Galesburg girls outscored Peoria Richwoods 21-5 in the 2nd quarter alone Tuesday night on their way to a dominating win in their Regional Semifinal game, 69-55. The Silver Streaks now advance to the Regional Championship game against the Morton Potters Thursday (2/15) night.
The Silver Streaks capitalized on the 21 turnovers by the Knights and were clutch in their free throw shooting. Senior Kiarra Kilgore was locked-in with her shots, scoring a career-high 37 points, including 10 for 15 shooting from the free throw line. Alexis Edgerson finished with 20 points, Antonia Kisler scored 7 points, and 4 points from Jozalyn Kilgore. Overall, the Streaks shot 50% from the field.
For her dominating performance, Kiarra Kilgore was named the Dave’s Auto Body Crunch-Time Player of the Game. Crunch-time was in the 2nd quarter and that's when Kiarra lit it up with 17 points, including 6 of 7 shooting from the free throw line. But she had a solid game all-around, finishing with a double-double, 37 points and 10 rebounds, along with 5 assists, 8 steals and 3 blocked shots.
