Hear from the Galesburg candidates: District 205 School Board

Candidates for Galesburg School District 205 Board of Education participated in a Candidate Forum on Tuesday, March 4 in the community room at the Galesburg Public Library. The forum was sponsored by Galesburg NAACP Branch 3016.

Vying for two positions representing Galesburg Township are current school board members Pamella Bess-Tabb and Rod Scherpe, along with challengers Luan M. Statham, Jaclyn Smith-Esters and Robert “Bo” Irons.

Running for the two positions outside Galesburg Township are current members Tera Boettcher and Maurice Lyon, and challengers Jamie Harter and Benjamin Yeutson. Voters can cast up to two votes for each set of candidates.

Irons and Harter were unable to attend Tuesday's forum.

Election Day for the consolidated election is Tuesday, April 1. Early voting began Feb. 20.
