In a well-rounded performance on a long road trip, the Galesburg girls basketball team got the win against the Freeport Pretzels Monday night, 69-45. The Silver Streaks are now 25-5 on the season.
Going into the game, Galesburg's Kiarra Kilgore needed 9 points to surpass Sarah Larson's record as all-time leading scorer in Silver Streaks girls basketball history, and did so early in the game as she led the Streaks in scoring with 24 points. With 1 regular season game remaining and a postseason run, she now has 1922 career points. For surpassing that milestone during the game, Kiarra was named the Dave’s Auto Body Crunch-Time Player of the Game. In addition to her scoring, she contributed 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, and a blocked shot.
