The Galesburg football team traveled down to Flinn Memorial Stadium in Quincy Friday night to take on the number 8 team in 7a on their homecoming night. The hosts wasted little time getting on the board after returning the opening kickoff 64 yards. Junior quarterback Bradyn Little found junior running back Jeraius Rice for a 33 yard touchdown just 23 seconds into the game. After a Streaks punt, Quincy struck again, taking just 56 seconds, Little found junior Tykell Hammers for a 25 yard strike for a 14-0 lead. Galesburg followed with a 7 play 49 yard drive that resulted in a school record 48 yard field goal by senior Sam Satisky. That was as close as the Streaks would get however, falling to the Blue Devils 56-19.
Quincy(6-0) was led by Little who finished 15/17 for 269 yards and 7 touchdowns. Rice added 156 yards on just 6 carriers and a touchdown. Galesburg(1-5) was led by Amarie Richardson on offense, as the senior running back rushed 15 times for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Dave's Autobody Crunch Time Player of the Game was Sam Satisky for his school record 48 yard field goal. The Streaks return to action next Friday night at Van Dyke Field as the Rock Island Rocks come to town.
